
Philip Singleton joins Carpathians as Musical Director

The Carpathians Big Band is excited to announce Philip Singleton as the band’s new Musical Director.
Philip is a sought-after composer, conductor, bandleader and trumpet player, renowned for his dynamic musicianship and leadership across a wide range of
musical styles and ensembles.

Philip has appeared at many major venues throughout Britain and internationally and has served as Principal Conductor and Musical Director of the Marlborough Concert Orchestra and Wantage Big Band for a number of years. He also appears regularly as a guest conductor with several other high-profile groups.
Philip has been featured as a composer, bandleader, and trumpet player at leading festivals, including the London Jazz Festival (where he premiered his acclaimed Non-Blues suite), the International Duke Ellington Conference and the Croydon Jazz and Blues and Swanage Jazz Festivals.

We are looking forward to continuing to develop the band’s repertoire and are excited to explore new musical directions with Philip.

is a south Oxfordshire based “cross-over” Big Band, playing a vibrant mixture of Jazz, Blues, Funk and
Contemporary music. Recently described as “Oxfordshire’s best dance band” we enjoy playing corporate functions, weddings and private events.
